Bridge St Louis Botanical Garden

24″ x 30″
Oil on canvas

This lovely bridge is in the Chinese garden in the St. Louis, Missouri Botanical Garden. The St. Louis Botanical Garden was formally known as Shaw’s Garden. This garden was founded in 1859 by Henry Shaw. The Chinese garden is a very small garden neatly tucked in 79 acres of one of the top three botanical Garden’s in the world. The Chinese garden is secluded. The St. Louis Botanical Garden is a must-see garden. Anyone visiting this garden should plan on a full day. I also recommend part of your visit should be spent in the Japanese garden. The Japanese garden is very extensive. Be sure and have quarters so that you can feed the Carp. These large fish churn the water competing for food. There are several machines that dispense food. This activity is not just fun for kids, most adults enjoy it also. As an artist I enjoy painting things I love like Bridges and China so the combination of the two are irresistible to me.
