Daffodils

Oil on canvas
Yellow flowers are difficult paint. Yellow is a very challenging color to shade. Purple works best. Blue and yellow make green. I use four different shades of yellow on my paint palette. Unlike reds and blues there is not very much contrast between any of them. I keep returning to Daffodils and Jonquils as a flower in my still lifes. Trying to differentiate one flower from the next and keep the petals separate without mudding them.
