Magnolias are the flower of the South. Yes, all you botanists out there I know the showy white petals are not petals. I thought for sure that I was going to flunk the one Botany Class I took in college. The only plant that I could really name on the final identification was Marijuana. I probably misspelled it. Blessedly I received a C as a grade and only hurt my grade point average. Magnolia trees are easy maintenance free and fast growing. I have five Magnolia trees in my yard. Cut Magnolias wilt quickly and only last about an hour. Magnolias are one of my favorites to use in still life paintings.
