October in Monet’s Garden
30″ x 24″
Oil on canvas
In October 2015 I was able to tour Monet’s Garden in France. Our group arrived early at the opening of the garden. The morning mist gave the garden a special glow. After the formal tour we were left on our own to photograph to our hearts content. The nasturtium flowers had overgrown the pathways with their orange and yellow blooms. The mist obscured the structures in the background making it hard to see just where the outlines of the buildings were. This painting was my third attempt to master the subject. I try to learn something with each painting. This visit in Monet’s garden will always remain a unique, special experience.
