This fun view of a Xochimilco family and friends outing depicts the relaxed attitude of adults enjoying each other’s company. The kids are being left to their own devices trailing their hands at the back of the boat in the water. Even at the time I worry that the kids would suffer the ill effects of this very dirty and highly polluted water. That’s one nice thing about any painting. There is no need to paint pollution. Because it was such a beautiful sunny day the water reflected the blue sky.
